Heavy snowfall from the past week has resulted in ~20" of snow on lake which has caused the ice to crack and flood. Lake has ~14" powder on top of 6-8" of slush. Pretty much everywhere. Walking on lake is near impossible (need rubber boats). Skidooing is ok if you keep the speed up to float above the slush. The -25 did nothing to freeze the slush. Too much snow on top for now. Even the small ponds around the south side have the same conditions. Snow mid thigh deep on land.

(2554) And who could forget his ability to fabricate? His highly customized quad racks made from a seemingly endless supply of HDPE! On this ride, I blew out a tire. Using his pump (and patience), we would inflate for 5 minutes, ride for 5 minutes, repeat. Rode out of somewhere by Brown Creek?

(2552) Walt was a gentleman. Attached is a pic of him during one of our club rides to the Roadhouse Restaurant in 2009.

I'm so glad to have to have ridden trails with him. At every stop, he would share an interesting story for every acre of land in the area...

Hi Rob, nice to meet you & Rick out on the trails today. We did take E Trail to the Rayfield Valley Lookout & back. Good ride, trail well maintained!

Thanks, good meeting you two also. We followed the pink ribbons from where we met toward the clubhouse. Tough deep snow with several opportunities to get a workout in. eventually we hit the lake and dashed across it to the clubhouse. We also went down to the lookout. We saw a bull Elk hanging out by the log pile near Watch Creek road. Good to see the big fellow. Hope to see you guys again, maybe on a quad-squad ride.
