We were out on the lake a couple of days ago. Lots of slushy and "iffy" looking spots.

Steve M Friday, 29 December 2017 11:33 PM
Cracking and flooding. I hope to be up Sunday and will take some ice measurements.

It was interesting watching the lake freeze this year. The extreme low temps early November almost froze the lake over completely. But then it warmed, and the wind picked up. The lake has been frozen around my dock and bay since Nov 5th (ish), yet 100m away there was open water Dec 3rd (see pic below). You definitely have to be cautious. I expect the ice to be significantly thicker by my dock vs 100m out...

Any updates in the last week or so for weather and ice overs on Sheridan and Deka?

MsFid Tuesday, 19 December 2017 07:12 PM
Hey anyone been around Sheridan or Deka to see about lake ice thickness? See the one camera stuck on last friday?

D Thursday, 21 December 2017 02:11 AM

My website provider changed my IP address, so I'll have to change the camera's ftp settings when I get up there after Christmas. I forgot to enable the remote for the new router also... doahh!

(2542) It looked like it was going to be an early freeze over, but has turned into a late one. Open water along half the south shore.

There is a skiff of snow on the back road. Compacted nicely as we've been driving on it every day.

Looking at the two week forecast I wouldn't expect there to be any problem driving in for xmas (with a pickup)

Are you frustrated that the Northeast camera image is often cropped and that the Yesterday movies aren't working anymore? Well so am I! LOL

The reason I'm told is that, when that terrible windstorm went through the area last spring, some damage occurred to a piece of equipment upstream to our local ISP. This ends up giving me dropped connection when uploading data.

I'm also told that a solution will fix this 'in the Fall'

Raegan's South Side camera is set up this winter to give us images all year long. Provided it gets enough sunshine...

I also extended the posting time for this form. Any other suggestions?

Thanks, Rob

Switch ISPs? How many megs/gigs do you use a month? Maybe switch to cell based?

ABC confirmed there upgrading the Lone Butte tower that will affect past Bridge Lk,upgrading to a LTE that should help

Cell based services dont work in all areas,Andres will let ya take one out to try,if it dosnt work return it with in 10 days

Rob Tuesday, 7 November 2017 01:53 PM
In fairness to ABC, they were apologetic and offered to make it right with me. I'm hopeful that they will get this straightened out. I've been with them since dial-up and I'd rather my $ went to support a local. So I'll let this play out a little longer... Thanks all for the comments!
