(2696) Quite a storm yesterday I presume... just need power to the tower again, to see if I lost more trees. Let's hope not.

It's funny... We never seem to have power outages on the South Side. confused

Bill Saturday, 12 March 2016 08:06 PM
HMMM...Probable cause of no power outages is that the power lines stop at Sheridan Park Resort. One day you might join the rest of us. A piece of history from the old residents who are now mostly dead & gone: In the 1960's/70's a group of draft dodgers from the USA squatted on the old club house at Jack Frost Lake. They apparently tapped into the power line on Watch Lake Road & ran power up to the lake. Quite a feat considering the distance.

Hi Bill, I built our cabin a few years ago, about 500 meters from the old club house on Jack Frost Lake. Power sure would have helped, but I didn't see any wink

Tapped power line was removed by BC Hydro after the squatters were evicted by the RCMP. I know your location & you could extend the power lines from Thomas Road but it would be expensive.

How much to extend it to the South Shore?! roll eyes (sarcastic)

Yeah, we thought about power, then realized it would take up the whole cabin budget

Steve, we might have a new set of anti Trump squatters, maybe they can run power to the south side big grin

Interesting story about the club house. I want to know more about it, how old is it? Who originally owned the property? I just found it last year.
