Update from the Information Meeting at Interlakes on August 1st. All ATV's, Dirtbikes etc. are not allowed in the back country or trails due to the extreme fire hazard conditions. We have had North winds for the last few days which has cleared the smoke & hopefully helped the fire situation. BUT, we are still on evacuation alert for anyone coming up for the long weekend.

Thanks for the info Bill. Quads definitely should not be allowed in the back country at this time, but why isn't that showing on the government website?

The site says there are no restrictions on forest use.

Unless the public was at the meeting, or viewing this website, how would they know?

There have been numerous complaints about lack of information from the CRD & BC Wildfires. 100milefreepress.net has the most up to date information. Go to Local News/Information Meeting for the article on the Meeting.
