Ahhh, Tim:
Any thanks for the website or webcam should be directed toward Rob (Boulanger Point) who has done a great job researching and making this all work, guestbook and all. While we at Sheridan have a poster who offers an abundance of good information, credit is sometimes taken away from the true mechanics. The Interlakes Club has a great series of maps (w/ GPS!) that you may be interested in. Contact them or Gill at Sheridan Park Resort (theres a website) for laminated maps of our area. They are VERY well done! If you have any web accessed maps or? please advise.... I share your travel... from Cloverdale.
Yes, Kiwi.. the info about the ice, snow is invalueble....

Happy to see that someone else appreciates what Kiwi does for this website & ISC. Perhaps "Rotten" and his "Southside" friends (are they one and the same, eh. Tim?) will take their negative comments and move on so that we can enjoy the webcam, chit-chat, weather reports etc.

Hi Kiwi..
I want to thank you for the webcam. I’ve been watching it for 3 years. And also Thanks for the weather report and the ice thickness report. I have a cabin on Bowers Lake.
I’ve told a lot of other cabin owners on Bowers about your site. It’s invaluable when we are planning a winter trip up to the lake on our sleds. Our winter trips in ,are a little more adventurous than those on Sheridan as sometimes we have to unload and sled in up to 15 KM from the cabins . Windy mtn road a lot of time is not plowed. Knowing how cold it is and how much snow helps a lot. We live in the Langley area and have been coming up since 1978. On a side note..
I notice your club maintains a lot of trails. A group of us from Bowers maintain a another group of trails in our area., both by ATV’s and snowmobiles.
Glad to share with you on where they are located as they are not marked on any maps.
Thanks again for your great contribution.

This agreement is only to allow a non-licenced vehicle access to these roads when not in use by vehicles. Good idea to have this.... Otherwise it is unlawful to use unlicenced motorized vehicles. The agreement would be unneccasary if/when we are all required to licence our ATVs and sleds as in Alberta. It is very clear that any licenced motor vehicle has right of way here.

Ok well that seems pretty clear to me.....if there are vehicle tracks.....then snowmobiles shouldn't be on the road.
It's a Forestry road first.

There will be no arguements so far as I am concerened here or anywhere else.
Should anyone wish to discuss this with me personally my phone number is 250 593 4770.
Keep in mind that I arranged this agreement on behalf of the ISC and it is valid to 2014 with a right of renewal.

Though I can appreciate that the snowmobile club does enjoy the forestry roads in the winter I do not feel it is appropriate for some to discourage others from using these routes to get to there cabins or other property for selfish reasons. Considering that the bigger portion of the Cariboo tax base comes from non-residents who do not receive a tax grant and pay full taxes to own property on these lakes. We foot a major portion of revenue that allows for the Cariboo residents to enjoy a hospital , schools , road and other maintenance and over the last bit fire protection.
Taken directly from the forestry site:
(3) A person must not operate a snowmobile on a forest service road if it appears that the road has been snowplowed, or that the road is otherwise fit for travel by motor vehicles other than snowmobiles.
To quote a famous half Vulcan Spock " The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one"
I am also sorry Rob for airing this . One only needs to look at the root of every dispute on here to find a cure.

seems we go through this every year. Not that Im planning on travelling A or 7 or B in the winter, but for the amount of taxes the people on the south side pay, I think it would be reasonable that we would have access all year round. One would think there is enough trails out in the sticks for the sleds that the few roads we would need to obtain our access wouldnt inconvenience them all that much. What would you think, Kiwi if we shut the road down to your house cause we wanted to play on it? You wouldnt mind would you? Just my 2 cents...but I know Im not alone in this. Sorry Rob to use this guestbook as a place to argue like this. Hope the cam comes back on soon..Im missing it big time!
