Information received from Deka Lake that a new tower is going up on Judson Road. The word is that it will be tested within 6 weeks and operational by Christmas.

According to wireless store in 100 Mile House ... all work on towers should be completed by early 2013.

Re the cell tower .. I also heard there was work happening clearing the right-away at the high point off LacDesRoche for the other cell tower. Work started in July.tk

Don't get your hopes up folks but there is active work ongoing at Huckleberry Butte. A new Telus Tower that has been predicted???? If so, we will have wireless service in the Interlakes Area!

My father Roy Mickens was well known up there. I spent my summers growing up there in the 1960's and 70's. Dad had a way with the lake and people would watch him fish with binoculars, trying to check out what flies he would catch those fish on. He built 2 cabins in the South Bay, still there today. I had hoped someday to visit the lake again, it is etched in my heart forever. Dad died in 2002 at age 92, but he always missed that lake. I too hear it calling to me, as I enter my Golden Years. I imagine there are still some there that remember my father in his Hi Laker boat with his dog Reggie riding on the bow. I wish my grandchildren could have experienced those fun days, that I and my children enjoyed at Old Sheridan.

Just came home from a fantastic 2 weeks at Sheridan. No skeeters, lots of sunshine and the lake was calm and beautiful almost all day everday - you could not find such serenity in the Okanagan. Shhhhhh I have to be careful not to spread the word ;)

I love looking at this site. I get rather nostalgic when I think about the times I spent there with my family.
My parents have since passed on and the cabin still stands. My extended family still visits very often. I hope I can make another visit sometime in the not too distant future. The cabin once belonged to the Eggie's.
