Was wondering if anyone knows what the snow conditions at deka lk are like as want to come up but don't want to dig in thanks Mike

Hi, talked to a neighbour who was up last week and there was a foot of snow but temperatures were warm so probably less now. If you have Facebook a couple of groups you could join and ask. One is called Deka Lake and the other Deka Residents.

Docks are free floating. Don't see any ice fishermen. Haha. Southside road challenging but doable.

Even with the warm temps, ice off is a ways away. Still snow on the ice and at least 12+ inches.

I was wrong (sort of)... ABC changed there IP addressing scheme which left all of us with static IP's high and dry if we're not there to reconfigure our routers or KIWI cams or traffic cams. A solution is being worked on that will hopefully get things back to normal by end of week? Thanks for your patience and encouragement!
I really do want to see the ice go off on the 19th. :)

I agree... But I think the ball is in ABC Communications court. I have power at the cabin. But the Interlakes traffic cam is down (that's the tower I use) and I can't ping the KIWI camera on Thomas Point. So I think someone at Rona accidently unplugged the extension cord out to the tower... :)

For a quick 'fix', The South Shore camera works and is dialed in nicely! and our neighbors at Bridge Lake have there weather cam working... (under the weather tab)

I think Rotten's prediction is going to be pretty close. I think it will be a day or two sooner than that. If we are taking bets, I will go with May 5.... Let's hope this weeks nice weather speeds things up.

Ice melting, yes. But still around 20". Melting along south facing shores making getting on and off the ice challenging. It looks to be a later than average ice off, meaning 2-3 weeks away.

Kudos to ABC Communications for fixing my (and others, I presume) internet connection. It's been a long year with sketchy connections since that windstorm last April. It all appears to running strong this past month now... :)
