Same thing over at Green Lake. No see ums, and black wasps with yellow tail. Really bad this year. Haven't seen anything like it. All you hear is a constant buzzing in the background. Evening was bad for no see ums. Scratching became a full time job.

Add to that.. no see em's, blackflies, yellow hornets and the black bald face hornet. Nasty insect,with large nests.Lots of people (including me )allergic to them.
100 mile emergency has rash of hornet reactions this year.Docs have said their venom especially potent this year due to dry July.Weird insect year... indeed...tk

deer flies,,mosquitoes,horse flies,and black wasps, with nests the size of 5 gallon water bottles,....what gives ??? had a hard time trying to have a beer on the deck!!! a good freeze this winter will help. last year nothing...weird to say the least

Steve is correct. Campfire ban in effect at noon 1st.August, just heard it on Cariboo Radio.

Campfires are still permitted in the Cariboo Area.

Hiked all the trails off of Lincoln on Thursday...... had four sets of 4-legged bait with us...... no sign of cougars... a few deer prints....
