So how is the back roads to the south side of the lake? Big melt seems to be on. Has anyone made it all the way now? Inquiring minds wanna know....happy Easter everyone!!

Basically no snow Stu and yes we are forecast for plus 16 on Friday. Is anybodys guess as to what you will find. You could shorten the crossing by using JR road down Sheridan East further and cross to the beaver dam then onto the B Trail

How much snow is on the lake now? I had planned on traveling across the lake this weekend but the forecast is for very high tempertures and am concerned about melting snow on the lake creating poor travelling conditions. Happened to me last year and alomost got stuck out in the middle of lake - don't want a repeat again...

Should be okay Stu but will be hard and lumpy, minus 12 here this morning.

Plan on a trip up this Easter weekend and sounds like plenty of ice to cross over from Piney Point to south shore. Can anyone tell me if it is worth bringing up my cross country skiis to use on the trails in the south shore area??
