Will be happy to help Mark but do not feel Rob's guestbook is the proper place for the discussion although it is public information. Please E Mail me at kiwimc@bcinternet.net and let me have your phone number and I will be happy to call you. Please put Sheridan Lake in the subject line so that I can sort you out of the spam.
Cheers
Bruce

Regarding the use of Forestry roads: Thank you for the information Kiwi. You saved us a long drive as I wasn’t aware of this at all. This is the first time this has ever been mentioned to me which is surprising as I have had many discussions with property owners around the lake this past year about coming up in the winter. When we purchased the property this wasn’t disclosed to us and in fact we were encouraged to “drive” up in the winter if we had a 4x4 and could make it in. I’m glad I didn’t make that long drive with my young family and find out I couldn’t get in through the back way once I got up there. I’m now curious, how would one know and learn about “formal agreements” regarding the use of Crown land that may impact us and/or new owners in the area? Especially if they aren't members of the Interlakes Snowmobile Club. I was all over those wonderful roads and trails this summer and didn't see any indication this was the case.

Garry, good observation! I 'studied' the film but was inconclusive in my analysis. You could be correct, the 30sec frame rate bears out the speed 'it' was moving. Anybody else? In XP Pro...(R-Click, Save Target as..., [desktop], Start, Programs, Accessories, Windows Movie Maker, [open saved Sheridan.wmv on desktop] and do a frame by frame analysis.) hmmmmm

Please be aware that the road on the South Side of Sheridan is a designated snowmobile trail of the Interlakes Snowmobile Club and any time that there is sufficent snow on the ground it is closed for ALL wheeled vehicles and restricted to SNOWMOBILES ONLY.

Southside is questionable at this time of year for road access. Last year I made it in with a Bronco II and chains until December (wasn't up in January) but tried Feb 19th and didn't make it in. Had to borrow a snow machine from Gill at Sheridan Park Resort to get across the ice. You'd make it across the ice with chains (if thick enough).

Hi everyone. Is there any chance the Forestry Service Road on the South side is accessible with a 4x4 and chains? We don’t have a snow machine and thought we could at least try to drive in the back way. By the way, we love this website. The camera is wonderful.

Thank You all for the overwhelming positve comments about the latest addition to our website. It truly is a hattrick in how it's accomplished. I'll spell it out in my next addition... FAQ's, for all of you geeks.
Also, (after much prompting ) , I finally added instructions on the entering of the phrase at the bottom of the guestbook entry. A needed security messure in these times. sigh.
Anyway, thanks again for your support and I'll see you at the Lake.
Rob
