Anyone else 'enjoying' the bumper crop of pack rats these days?

I delt with 3 in my first 17 years and now over 20 in the past couple years between myself and neighbours.

Do you think that is because the Foxes have been gotten rid of? It's rare that I see any here. I haven't seen any rats here yet but dread the day I do!

Im guessing folks with chickens are taking them out,huge chipmunk explosion this year until the neighbors cats found them cool .We had a pair of fox that vanished last fall,sad.

Hello, Neighbors found these two dogs on Hwy24 & West Sheridan. We’re currently keeping the dogs at our cabin. Does anyone recognize these two and know the owner. Please help us get them home if you can. Thx

Let the smokey season begin. Sigh.

Does anyone know if the outlet culverts were modified after 'the great flood' a few years ago? The lake level is surprisingly low to start the season given the significant amount of snow we had.

Is this the new high water mark? (Approximately 30" below the flood level from years ago)

When I used "Deep thoughts" calculation of Ice off on June 6, I forgot to factor in the time difference between Planet Earth and Planet Magrathea. Which puts it squarely on May 7th. just saying...

If you hadn't already this year, you've missed your chance to ice skate on Sheridan. All clear! I said May 14. My closest yet! Looks like Lipripper is the closest with May 5th. "Deep thought" can hang its head in shame as being the least accurate.

The way I've recorded it the past number of years is calling ice off when no ice anywhere on the lake remains.
