I will now explain how to deal with this type of situation. If you know there is a fir ban you should say to the person "do you know there is a fire ban"? At this point the person will say "oh ya but it was lifted this morning, come ashore and have a beer" or they may say "oh really" and they will put the fire out and say "come ashore and have a beer" Both ways you still get a beer and mabye a new friend! With the nutjob approach mentioned in the last post you get no beer and make no new friends.

Monday night we were having a fire as the ban was lifted in the morning, a 12 foot lund boat or look alike with 2 people and 2 dogs came across the lake with some nut job screaming at my wife "PUT THE FIRE OUT NOW" in a voice a cop would use when confronting an armed man. My wife said ummm NO, I came out then to see what was going on and he kept yelling at us and would not shut up long enough to get our reply then he sped of in his boat looking back to see if I was chasing him. It was pathetic at best. Im hoping the person visits this site or someone knows him and can tell him he owes us an apology. "NO BEER FOR YOU"!

A Quote from your govt's fire website !!
"Effective noon August 30, 2010 open burning, including the lighting and use of campfires and restricted equipment such as tiki torches, fireworks, and burn barrels will be permitted throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre due to a decreased risk of wildfires."

According to the fire protection site ... yes the fire restrictions are still in effect for the Cariboo region ... better safe than sorry I guess!
