They are changing shifts right now and will be updating the numbers listed shortly. They were very helpful and were at Sheridan Lake right now. They are or have been protecting structures on the West side and have boats coming or have arrived from Green Lake to protect structures on the South Side where road access is limited. They have all been working hard! Wow!

Three water bombers are now on Sheridan.

Why is the link to the north east not loading any pics? I can get Kiwi West but not the other.

We received information early this afternoon about a pending evacuation order for North of Hwy 24 from a contact with the Fire Dept. & RCMP in 100 Mile House. They thought it might include all of Sheridan Lake including Deka & Horse Lakes. This has now been downsized but the fire situation is still critical due to the weather forecast. Hwy 24 is now closed. We might be in Abbotsford now but are still Cariboo Strong! If I receive any more updates, I will post them.

For very reliable interpretations of the various maps and websites, including links to all of them, I agree with a previous post that the "Brents Desk" You Tube videos are very informative.

I toured the lake today from my place (Midpoint on the south side) to the west. I have photos of every south shore place to the west. If you would like me to email it to you, send me an email with the description of your cabin. smccleme at hotmail dot com.

From the lake I saw no evidence of cabins damage, or timber burned. I would confidently say at this point (as of 3:30pm) no cabins have been damage or lost anywhere on the lake.

The maps with the yellow stars appear to be quite accurate. There are fires burning not far from Sheridan Park Resort, and by No 2. Lake. There is also a small column of white smoke close to airplane Dave's. I expect the sky will glow red tonight as the temperatures have risen now that the smoke has cleared.

A gentle North / North East wind prevailed all day.

I met crews of firefighers installing sprinklers on the north side of the lake, just east of Sheridan Park resort. They had done the resort and 5-6 cabins and were working East.

They appear to be under staffed and lacking equipment. I asked for a pump to install myself and they didn't have one to give. There is a chance they get more pumps tonight.

There are helicopters flying now. I'm not sure if they are bucketing or just surveying. I will report more info tonight.
