This is the Fire Boss Skimmer. We have a contact with the SAR in 100 Mile house who states the NW winds have pushed the fire back & it is now moving in a SE direction away from the South Side of Sheridan at this time.

This is the Turbo 215, they are also using the Fire Boss Skimmers. We were evacuated yesterday and have re-surfaced in Abbotsford. Support the firefighters, pilots, police & military who are protecting us. Tim Hortons is supplying food etc. to the members manning the checkpoints.

I am at the lake, staying at Sheridan Lake resort. I have a place on the south side directly south from the break in the big island. I can confirm all cabins undamaged from the farm in the south east corner to my place. I toured the shore slowly by boat after the water bombers finished at 6:13pm.
The fire on the south side is looking much better than it did yesterday. When we were evacuated there was a definite red glow and you could see flames.
After the bombers finished today, there were only two small, white smoke columns on the south side. I would guess they are back by the forest service rd, maybe 3km from the lake. Both to the west of my place (I'm basically at the midpoint of the south shore).
A helicopter could be heard shortly after the bombers finished. I'm assuming surveying the fire.
There are NO sprinklers on any of the cabins that I saw.
There have been crews on the ground as propane tanks have been pulled away from buildings, but that was the only evidence I saw.
If someone knows who to call to get them out there with sprinkler systems it would be greatly appreciated. The hot weather returns Saturday so tomorrow is the last chance.
I plan to tour the south side again tomorrow and will update.

Hey Steve, could you see if they were twin or single engine.

I believe that question is answered after reading Brad Potters post on Facebook. Those are the guys from Quebec flying the turbo 215's. From what I heard their a tight no nonsense group. Too bad they couldn't hang around for a few days.
