Aircraft have been on this fire since it started in Ashcroft back in June

They were circling over Sheridan yesterday when the evacuation order came down, but not picking up water.

The fire is getting close. Rcmp / military have blocked access to the south side. The check point is by the firehall.

Thanks for the update. We just left Sheridan Lake (Airmail Road) today, but now going back tomorrow to assess. Hoping all roads opened.

Any updates from the lake? The wildfire site shows the fire hot spots almost to the lake. Not sure of the accuracy of the map.Any word on evacuation alerts?
