Is highway 97 now open from Clinton to 24? We are heading up to Sheridan from Maple Ridge and wondering if we have to drive via Little Fort?

Wondering how the smoke conditions are up at Deka and Sheridan lakes this week? Looks like the Little Fort and Gustaven fires are getting under control so we may be able to get up country for our vacation after all. I assume all quadding and dirt biking on Forest Service roads and trails is still closed off due to fire situations across BC?

From my perspective here on Sheridan, we've been pretty clear of smoke for a couple of days now. Baking our own bread though, the Interlakes can't keep it in stock! I don't mind though. lol as for the FS roads? I'm not sure...

Gotta like that Sheridan webcam guy. Out on vacation with the boat and toys come hell or high water. Thats grit for you...good on them and all you others up that way.

Sheridan is accessible via Highway 24. Was there yesterday. RCMP Road block at Interlakes. Very happy to see the their presence. About 1/2 hour of rain -- just enough to wash the dust off and that's about it.

Hi folks, the BC highway website states that highway 24 is closed to westbound traffic at Horse Lake road and of course highway 24 is closed at highway 97. Does that pretty much mean that there is no access to get to Sheridan lake?

You can still access Sheridan & other lakes in the area. Local traffic allowed westbound on 24 to Lone Butte. I believe 97 is still open southbound to Clinton.
