Amazed to see a 1 ton pickup on the ice today!
Fred Wednesday, 30 December 2015 08:23 AM
You must be up there... Did you drive in? A Friend told me the snow was "between your knees and pockets" on the back road yesterday.

Just came back Fred. Yes, I managed to drive in. Chains all around, and it was slow going. The back road has now been plowed into the places in the Southwest Bay.

If anyone drives around the South side please let us know. I'm planning to come up in a couple days and would like to know if driving in is a possibility.

Merry Christmas to all and all the Best in the New Year.
Please be very careful with this Ice ! It was Open less than 3 weeks ago with Cold temps just in the last week . The Trick is The back bays didn't all melt , some had ice stacked up by the wind etc,,, so what I am saying is ... if You check the thickness in a Bay , it probably is going to be Thinner in the main body. If You break through , there is a chance You may go right in !...No safety Layer underneath ! I was a U-Boat Captain once .....it's NO FUN ! Be Careful ppls ! Don't take that chance !

I am wondering the same thing... Im coming up for new years, wondering if I will be snowmobiling or atv'ing...

I was up icefishing last weekend and there was 9-10 inches of ice on the South Side of the lake, just off the West end of the big Island. Very little snow on the ice then. I'm guessing there's more of both now.

We are coming up over Christmas. Is there enough ice and snow to sled on the lake yet?

The big question on my mind is...
"did it make a sound?"
Steve M Sunday, 6 December 2015 03:30 PM
See the December 3rd, 'Yesterday @ the Lake' to witness the tree falling without a sound.

Looks like the lake opened up again .
Crazy warm weather & warm wind. Same thing happened last year... cold November, warm and windy December. Hope the lakes will be frozen for Christmas..tk

Hey Steve.... how much snow in your driveway??
|
Steve M Wednesday, 2 December 2015 12:11 PM
8-10 inches. Made it in without much drama with snow tires on. If we get another dump of snow, I think it will be skidoo access only.
