Hey locals
Does anyone know who owns, and/or, if the air strip located on the East side of Sheridan lake is available for use. I found it, while roaming around on Google Earth.

Walt Levick would know... he used to fly out of there in his GyroCopter.

Ok. That might be Levick's Excavating gravel pit that's on the same property then.
Thanks Rob.

Despite the 124C temperature smile , I think the ice is in.

Just wanted to be number 2300, and to say there wasn't really any ice on the lake a couple of weeks ago and ours is way smaller than yours.

I was recently approached by a mathematician who is also following the 'ice-in' on Shawn and Kiwis camera on the East end. He also passed along a url:

http://lakeice.squarespace.com/ice-growth/

I followed it right up to the pretty picture and the details section...
Actually the site is full of interesting info about Lake Ice, and not the kind that tinkles in your beverage glass.

Anyone have a prediction, based on current water temp, and past experience, when ice over is likely this year? I'm hoping to get the boat on the water for one last fishing weekend Nov. 14. What do you think of the chances?

Him (her?) and 4 siblings were born under my shop over here on Boulanger Point. It's pretty friendly... I'm glad they all moved out though! phew! Shop smells much better now. roll eyes (sarcastic)

Spent a very productive weekend, (7 fish in 2 days) at Sheridan. We were discussing how low the water level seems. Anyone know just how low it is in comparison to normal levels?
Just curious.

Rob Send E-mail Tuesday, 8 September 2015 06:00 AM
Although 'normal' is subjective, the level was really good all summer, and then this past several weeks, it dropped considerably. Not near as low as it has been in the past, but still lower than I would expect from evaporation. The only outlet, that I know of, is the beaver dam near the Interlakes Complex. I've 'heard' that the dam has been manipulated by people at times for there own concerns... confused
