Did the wind hit up there like down on the coast?
Steve M Sunday, 30 August 2015 11:02 PM

FYI, I'm a bit under the weather for awhile, but will get the camera's, temp etc back up and running this fall, before the snow flies. Thank goodness for KiwiCam! Thanks for your patience...

I bet the dumping has something to do with all the dump sites charging a fee

You can buy propane and gas at Sheridan PARK Resort. You can buy gas at Sheridan Lake Resort. No need to go all the way to Bridge Lake Store.

Does anyone know if they have changed the Cell towers? We have been getting good cell/data since they put the towers in up until this weekend. We are now having a terrible time trying to get coverage. Just curious if anyone has any information.
Steve M Wednesday, 5 August 2015 12:57 PM
The towers become over loaded on the weekends when there is an influx of people. You would notice your phone data will work fine early in the mornings and during the night when all the kids aren't on facebook.
I've talked to telus about it - I'm not sure they'll be able to do anything about it. Normally there's a few thousand people using the towers, but on the weekends I'd imagine there are 10's of thousands and the towers can't handle it.

Thanks Steve, appreciate the info. Makes sense. Do you have a contact for Telus? Maybe a few calls from different people might help push things along.

Steve M Thursday, 6 August 2015 06:18 PM
No I don't have a specific contact. I just dialed *611 and talked to tech support regarding network issues. Ironically my call with them was dropped and I was given the 'network is currently busy' error. They did have the decency to call back...

Hi
has anybody hooked up an HD (digital) TV antenna up there with any luck picking up tv channels?

I barely get the 2 analog channels from Kamloops... I can't imagine that the digital would be better. Are the Kamloops channels digital also now?

my understanding is that analog transmissions stopped a couple of years ago but were replaced with digital and HD transmissions. Analog was picked up with the old 'rabbit ears' type of antenna where as digital/HD transmissions requires a digital/HD .antenna.

I've been receiving HD here in Seattle with my old antennae in the attic for years now. My brother does the same 50 miles out with a larger one... Newer 'digital' antennae's, better on a test bench, but certainly not required. And I use an 'older' one at Sheridan worked till I accidently cut the wire this spring...

You can also get gas at Bridge lake store so you do not run out on the 32 km round trip.

You can also get propane at Bridge Lake Store which might be cheaper.
